Autumn comes to Oslo. Hauketo (03.10.07)

  1. You mentioned that I might like a look at your photos, well I am on my first one and "oh wow" escaped my lips on viewing. I will be looking at each and every one. Is this simply a photo or have you mixed media here?

  2. Not sure if one would call this mixed media. I took the original photo with a digital SLR (Nikon D-50) and then tweaked the results with some simple software; jacked up the tone, adjusted the hue and leaned pretty hard on the contrast. The major changes from the original photo are the light values of the small birch saplings in the foreground. I lightened them up considerably to bring them forth and contrast with the dark background.
    This is a very interesting place. It‘s an abandoned railway, in the middle of a forest, cutting a straight line through the surrounding granite. If it looks somewhat like a tunnel, it because it almost is. The returning vegetation - mostly ferns, mosses and birches – merely adds to the mystery . . .
